Introduction

Course overview

Successful entrepreneurs need more than ideas—they need leadership, innovation, decision-making, and execution skills to turn opportunities into sustainable results. Whether launching a new venture or leading growth within an organization, entrepreneurial leaders must inspire teams, manage risk, and adapt quickly to changing markets. This course provides participants with practical tools to strengthen entrepreneurial thinking, leadership capability, and business management skills.

Entrepreneurial leadership is the ability to spot opportunities, take calculated risks and mobilise people and resources to turn ideas into results, whether in a new start-up or inside an established organisation. It combines the creativity and speed of an entrepreneur with the people skills and discipline of a manager.

Many promising ideas fail not because the idea is weak, but because it is never tested properly with customers, or because the team behind it lacks clear roles and direction. In this course participants take an idea from opportunity to plan: they test it against customer needs, sketch the business model with the Business Model Canvas, check feasibility and key risks, and decide what a minimum viable product or pilot would look like. Alongside this, they build the leadership side of entrepreneurship, including building and motivating a small team, making decisions with incomplete information, managing cash and priorities, and communicating a vision to investors, partners and employees.

Each participant finishes the course with a one-page business or growth plan, a pitch they have practised and received feedback on, and a personal development plan for the leadership skills they need for the next stage of their venture or career.
