Introduction

Course overview

Most incidents involve some form of unsafe behaviour, often influenced by workplace conditions, pressures and culture. Behaviour-based safety programmes focus on observing, understanding and reinforcing safe behaviours.

This Aractech course explains the psychology of behaviour, the ABC model, observation and feedback programmes, peer-to-peer conversations, leadership involvement and how to avoid common pitfalls such as blame. Participants design a behaviour-based safety programme suited to their organisation.

The course balances behaviour with system and organisational factors.
