Introduction

Course overview

Risk assessment is the foundation of every effective health and safety management system. Poor risk assessments either miss serious hazards or bury people in paperwork without reducing risk.

This Aractech course teaches a practical, proportionate approach to identifying hazards, evaluating risks and selecting effective controls using the hierarchy of controls. Participants learn qualitative and semi-quantitative methods, task-based and job safety analysis, dynamic risk assessment, and how to review and communicate assessments.

Workshops on real tasks and workplaces help participants produce risk assessments that genuinely improve safety.
