Introduction

Course overview

Primary and secondary recovery typically leave the majority of oil in the reservoir. Enhanced oil recovery methods can unlock significant additional reserves from mature fields, but they require careful screening, design and economic evaluation.

This Aractech course covers EOR principles and the main methods: gas injection, thermal recovery, chemical flooding and emerging techniques including CO2-EOR linked to carbon storage. Participants learn screening criteria, pilot design, monitoring and economics, supported by field case studies.

The course helps engineers and managers evaluate EOR opportunities for their own assets.
